Mercedes can wrap up the 2026 F1 constructors' championship at this weekend's São Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos.
They lead Ferrari by 126 points and need to outscore them by at least three points in Brazil to put the teams' title out of reach.
One week after Antonelli's crown
Kimi Antonelli sealed the drivers' title for Mercedes in Mexico last Sunday. The team also had a chance to take the constructors' crown there, but needed a one-two finish with Ferrari scoring no more than four points.
Mercedes have won 12 of the 19 Grands Prix so far this season. Only Ferrari can still catch them on paper.
A title this weekend would be Mercedes' ninth constructors' championship, according to Autosport and Motorsport.com.
How Mercedes can do it
The simplest route is for both Mercedes cars to finish in the points and ahead of both Ferraris. Any result where Mercedes score at least three points more than Ferrari will do.
Other examples worked out by Motorsport.com:
- Antonelli and George Russell both finish in the top five, and no Ferrari reaches the podium.
- Antonelli or Russell finishes in the top eight, and both Ferraris retire.
Across the first 19 rounds, not counting sprint races, Mercedes outscored Ferrari by three points or more 10 times.
When to watch in India
Interlagos hosts a standard weekend with no sprint race, so the title can only be settled in Sunday's Grand Prix.
The race starts at 10:30pm India time on Sunday 8 November. Qualifying begins at 11:30pm on Saturday 7 November.
Race it on Late Brake
Interlagos is one of six real circuits in Late Brake, the free browser game. Take on the AI rivals there before Sunday's race, and use the braking boards to judge the long uphill run to the line.
